New York State maintains the following pet travel rules:
- Only household pets may travel to Niagara Falls.
- Pets must be caged or on a leash not more than 6 feet in length.
- At Niagara Falls, pets are not permitted in buildings or on improved walkways and boardwalks.
Pet Travel exceptions are for guide dogs in which:
- Guide dogs are permitted in buildings, improved walkways and broadwalks.
- Guide dogs must be clearly identified with vest and harness.
