Apply For Niagara Falls Filming Permits

Interested in filming in Niagara Falls State Park? You’re not alone. It’s actually one of the world’s most highly requested filming destinations. After all, the enduring majesty of Niagara Falls has captured the imaginations of millions of visitors from around the world.

Just 30 minutes from Buffalo, New York, Niagara Falls State Park has been the location of feature films, reality TV shows, music videos, documentaries, fashion photo shoots and more. Permits are required for commercial shoots for film or still photography. Permits are not necessary for those shooting photos and videos for personal use, such as a family vacation or other individual, personal cause.

Permit fees and the need for additional insurance coverage will be evaluated once a permit application is submitted.

Please plan for your permit to take at least two weeks to be approved, although exceptions can be made in certain situations.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones)

In Niagara Falls State Park, (per FAA rule 14 CFR 93 Sub E), there is a flight restriction in the vicinity of Niagara Falls State Park that amounts to a No Fly Zone. All flights below 3,500 feet are restricted, Therefore, UAS are prohibited in Niagara Falls State Park. No permit will be issued.
