There is so much history, lore and ecology here that we occasionally offer hikes or walks and talks that focus on some of the things that make the region even more special.   • I Love My Park Day

    Join thousands of volunteers in caring for our state parks, historic sites, and public lands at New York’s largest single-day volunteer event. I Love My Park Day is a chance to roll up your sleeves and show some love for the public lands that we rely on.

  • Whirlpool-Devil’s Hole Gorge Loop

    Where: Whirlpool Area at Niagara Falls State Park
    When: May 24, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Join a park naturalist on a hike from gorge rim to river level and back up.

  • Gorge Rim to River Level

    Where: Devil’s Hole Area at Niagara Falls State Park
    When: June 20, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    We will hike down Devil’s Hole stairs, up the Whirlpool stairs and back along the rim trail.

  • Last Call for Spring

    Where: Devil’s Hole Area at Niagara Falls State Park
    When: June 20, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    Take a leisurely, wildflower focused stroll along the gorge on the last day of spring!

  • Bridging the Gap

    Where: Whirlpool Area at Niagara Falls State Park
    When: June 30, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

    Walk with an educator to Freedom Plaza and back to learn about the history of the engineers, daredevils, and freedom seekers who bridged the gap between the opposite sides of the gorge.
